ORIBE AT NYFW: MEN'S DAY FALL/WINTER 2018
This season, the Taakk collection took couture components and transformed them into street wear. Oribe Director of Training & Content Kien Hoang was tasked with turning individual hair textures into a pulled-back, uniformed samurai style in order to complement the clothing.
Bristol’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection was inspired by the designer’s grandparents who emigrated from Japan to the United States post World War II. To depict this, Oribe Educator Christian Ceja-Compin paired short crops, matte texture and natural movement with the relaxed, muted street wear.
Long hair, short styles, buzz cuts and severe bangs were all seen at David Hart’s Fall/Winter 2018 presentation. Oribe Director of Training & Content Kien Hoang made sure to promote the designer’s Parisian theme by cropping the hair, focusing on the sideburns and re-defining the hairline to frame each model’s beret.
For the Fall/Winter 2018, the Descendants of Thieves collection was inspired by the modern-day fox hunt and English tradition. With the model as the fox and the audience playing the hunter, Oribe Educator Christian Ceja-Compin split the cast in two to create a dandy style and a punk look.
Head of State’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection titled “Brotherhood,” was inspired by the designer’s childhood surroundings in Nigeria. Oribe Educator Nathan Nguyen created lived-in, matte texture styles to reflect the heat and dryness of the habitat.
The hard-working hands—and minds—behind Oribe Hair Care’s brilliant Education Team brought innovation and imagination to NYFW: Men's Day Fall/Winter 2018.
