ORIBE AT NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: FALL/WINTER 2018
Daphne Guinness, renowned art collector, designer and model, served as avant-garde muse for The Blonds’ latest collection. Each head-to-toe look more eccentric than the next, the Fall/Winter 2018 show juxtaposed the idea of evil versus aristocracy with a hint of rebellion. Oribe Director of Training and Content, Kien Hoang, accompanied the crystalized costumes with big, outer-worldly hair and described the pack of models as “a power alien army.”
John Elliott, cult menswear designer, debuted his first women’s collection by mixing the ideas of hard versus soft and masculine versus feminine. Oribe Director of Training and Content, Kien Hoang, styled both male and female models, opting to express the softer, more subtle side of the fusion. Lived-in texture and natural waves paired well with the street-style vibe.
An outdoor adventure of neon hues hit the runway during Chromat’s Fall/Winter 2018 show. The collection, which showcased sportswear and featured elements of utility and movement, had models strapped in by bungee cords. Oribe Director of Training and Content, Kien Hoang, created two active looks to go along with the colorful collection and tied his own playfully shaped bungees into the style.
The Fall/Winter 2018 collection by Cinq à Sept is a youthful play on textures and femininity. To complement the romantic aesthetic of the Parisian-inspired line, Kien Hoang, Oribe Director of Training & Content, embraced each model’s natural texture with effortless waves and demure detailing.
The Pyer Moss Fall/Winter 2018 show celebrated black empowerment and individuality by blending tactile textures with pops of color for a forward-thinking, wearable collection. Embracing texture in his own way, Oribe Director of Training and Content, Kien Hoang, paid specific attention to each model, enhancing natural curl, style and shine.
